Last week for Dare to be Digital submissions

There is just one week left for aspiring game developers to apply to take part in this year’s Dare to be Digital contest.

The deadline for students interested in entering the competition is 5pm on April 9th.

Open to applicants from around the world, entrants must also submit a video pitch explaining their game idea.

15 teams of five students will be selected to take part, and will be tasked with developing a working game prototype within just nine weeks.

At the end of the development period, all games will go on show to the public and a range of industry professionals at the Dare ProtoPlay games festival in Dundee in August.

The three winning teams of the competition will be then be nominated for the prestigious BAFTA ‘Ones To Watch’ Award.

This year’s BAFTA winner’s were Kind of a Big Deal with planet jumping title Starcrossed.

"Dare to be Digital is such an incredible experience for the 15 teams lucky enough to take part," said Kind of a Big Deal’s Andrew MacLean.

"There isn’t any other opportunity for students to create their own game, work with expert industry mentors, put their game on show to thousands of members of the public, and then be considered for a BAFTA as well.
