A number of staff have been laid off at Marvel Heroes 2015 developer Gazillion Entertainment.

As reported by Gamasutra, ex-Gazillion customer support and QA director Michael Parks had previously stated on Twitter that there had been “a lot” of redundancies at the studio.

This has now been confirmed by studio PR Chris Baker. It is not clear exactly how many staff have been laid off.

"We wish them well in their future endeavours, and would recommend them to other employers in a heartbeat," said Baker.

The studio’s most recent game, free-to-play title Marvel Heroes, launched two years ago to middling reviews. Despite the problems with the game’s initial launch, the studio made efforts to re-launch the MMO on June 4th 2014 as Marvel Heroes 2015. It received a Metacritic of 81, much better than the previous iteration, and was well received by players.
