LGC: Digital frontiersmen face the seasoned pros

The rising stars of digital and social gaming will join giants of the traditional games space to discuss the future of the market at the London Games Conference at BAFTA on Thursday, November 4th.

Heiko Hubertz, CEO of social gaming giant Bigpoint will kick things off with a keynote address. New technologies and business models will be represented elsewhere by, amongst others, Gaikai founder Dave Perry and Spil Games’ Floris Jan Cuypers, evangelists of their respective crafts in cloud gaming and HTML5.

Traditional publishing powerhouses will have their say through Codemasters CEO Rod Cousens and Capcom Europe COO David Reeves.

There will be exclusive new market data courtesy of Screen Digest, whilst Eidos life president Ian Livingstone will present the Livingstone-Hope Skills Review, which has been commissioned by the government and charged with establishing the UK as the world’s number one destination for game production.

Q Entertainment’s Shuji Utsumi is flying over from Japan to be part of a panel chaired by former Sony Worldwide Studios boss Phil Harrison, discussing the impact of social networks, online play and cloud technologies.

Also set to attend are senior executives from Electronic Arts, IGN, Playfire, EleGameStop and Playfish.
