Lynne Kilpatrick of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport will receive an OBE as revealed in the latest New Year's Honours List.

Kilpatrick receives the honour for her services to the video game sector. She works behind-the-scenes promoting the game industry to Government. She was also instrumental in putting together a plan for video games tax relief, which was approved by Government his year.

Kilpatrick is no stranger for picking up plaudits in 2014. She was named as one of the 100 Most Influntial Brits in the games industry within MCV in March, and collected a Develop Award in August for Services to Video games. She was also named in our list of 10 people that changed games in 2014.

Elsewhere, 24-year-old Jamal Edwards, the man who set up hit media broadcasting business SBTV, will receive an MBE.
