Swedish studio MAG Interactive has invested in a new Brighton studio set up by former PopCap senior game designer David Bishop called Delinquent.
The casual mobile game developer houses a team of 12 with experience at companies such as EA, Relentless and Activision.
The studio has already received investment to help fund development from Swedish outfit MAG Interactive, most known for its Ruzzle series. Its first title is due to be released by the end of March.
As part of its investment deal, the CEO of Ruzzle series developer MAG, Daniel Hasselberg (pictured), has joined the Delinquent board.
"There’s a strong fit between the culture of our studios," said Hasselberg.
"Our plan is to individually and collectively disrupt some of the established genres in casual free-to-play. Delinquent pitched us on their ambition to add genuine innovation into game genres we know and love. After spending time with the team and playing early builds of what they’re producing, we believe they can truly do that.”
