Masahiro Sakurai, designer of popular and long-running series such as Kirby and most recently Super Smash Brothers, will present a talk for DiGRA, Japan's Digital Games Research Association.
Taking place at the Fukutake Hall Running Theatre at Tokyo University's Hongo campus, the talk, entitled 'Game-ness', will explore the root of what makes a game fun, using existing games to explain the difficult-to-pinpoint principles that make games enjoyable.
Attendance is free for DiGRA members, 500 yen for student non-members and 1000 yen (approx £5) for all other non-members. Entrance is limited to 150 people, so pre-registration is recommended. More information can be found at the IGDA Japan website.
