Something in the region of 6,000 job cuts could to be announced at Microsoft later this week, a report has claimed.
Bloomberg says that the losses will target areas in which Microsoft and Nokia overlap, as well as marketing and engineering. The site cites the company’s 5,800 job cuts in 2009, saying that those numbers may be surpassed this time around.
It then states that “some” of the cuts will come from Xbox’s global marketing team, mentioning Microsoft’s European HQ in Reading specifically. Software testing will also reportedly be impacted.
