Midway nabs former Codemasters product development director

Midway has appointed industry vet Craig Duncan to the role of studio head for its Newcastle development outfit.

Duncan joins the studio with over ten years of senior development management experience, having spent five years at Codemasters in various worldwide product development roles and most recently being the developer-publisher’s director of product development.

He will drive development of Midway’s upcoming Wheelman in addition to all future products at the Newcastle studio, and will report to Matt Booty, Midway’s SVP of Worldwide Studios and current interim CEO and president.

“We’re very excited to announce the appointment of Craig Duncan as our Newcastle studio head,” said Booty.

“We are confident that Craig’s strong background along with his creative and technical expertise will further enhance the quality of upcoming games like Wheelman.”

Martin Spiess, executive vice president – international of Midway Games, added: “Midway is committed to working with the best talent in the industry and becoming a publishing force in Europe. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have a seasoned manager like Craig Duncan running our Newcastle studio, and look forward to his future contribution.”
