Sessions from devs behind Oblivion, Rock Band and more

More GDC talks revealed

Over on his Directors Cut blog, GDC executive director Jamil Moledina has unveiled four more sessions for GDC 08’s roster.

First up, Bethesda staffers Ken Rolston and Mark Nelson will be presenting ‘Collaborative Writing and Vast Narratives: Principles, Processes, and Genteel Truculence’, which will focus on the writing process of the critical and commercial success The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Blizzard’s VP of game design, Rob Pardo, will be heading up a talk entitled ‘Rules of Engagement: Blizzard’s Approach to Multiplayer Game Design’, where he will shed light on the best practices iterated through Blizzard’s previous work on multiplayer games.

Greg LoPiccolo, VP of product development at Harmonix, will present the ‘Rock Band Postmortem Postmortem’, in which he’ll talk on the postmortem process at Harmonix and how Rock Band’s complexity required a massive change to this process.

Finally, LucasArts’ Haden Blackman will talk on the company’s huge investment in it’s much talked about but rarely revealed next-generation development pipeline in his talk ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: How LucasArts is Building a Game, a Development Team and a Technology Pipeline… At the Same Time’.

GDC takes place at the San Francisco Moscone Centre from February 18th to 22nd.
