Proper's Chris Wright and Thirteen1's Albeck appointed to trade body's board

New members join Tiga board

Tiga has appointed two new members to its board.

Chris Wright, chief operating officer of Dundee-based developer Proper Games, has been appointed to represent the interest of Tiga associate members within the board.

Meanwhile, Thirteen1 comms officer Craig Albeck – formerly of Game Republic – will join the board as an Associate Director.

“I’m very excited to be part of the board,” said Wright. “At Proper Games we believe in what TIGA is doing and we are thrilled to be participating in their programme at GDC in San Francisco. It’s important that TIGA is a strong and vibrant organization that can support game development in the UK and I’m happy to do anything I can to help make that happen.”

Albeck added: "My first hand experiences of working in partnership with the games industry at a local and national level – through Game Republic – will serve me well in this role. Tiga has a pivotal role to play in facilitating the growth of the games industry in the UK, and they have a number of leading figureheads on the board that collectively can achieve this. It is a privilege to be part of the board. I am sure they will accept me and at the same time value my industry experience."

Speaking on the new additions, Tiga CEO Richard Wilson said: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome our new Directors. I look forward to working with them in the coming year in our endeavour to drive TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, forward in our campaign to serve the sector more effectively."
