Trickstar Games rises from the ashes

New studio forms from fallen Transmission Games

A number of staff from closed studio Transmission Games have grouped together to form a new outfit just four miles away.

Melbourne-based Transmission Games closed at the end of last year due to a series of financial troubles. But many of the group’s principal staff – from artists to coders to designers – are now working at new studio Trickstar Games, based in Prahran.

“The Trickstar team’s long history of working together, developing and delivering successful titles has ensured a strong bond within the studio,” read a statement posted on the firm’s new website.

“The team has established a solid production pipeline and have made quality the foundation of the studio.”

Little is known, for now, of the new outfit’s current projects – though Develop understands that Transmission’s former studio head Tony Parkes today heads up the group at Trickstar.

The studio still plans to expand, and continues to look for new staff.
