Former THQ VP to head live game operations for online publisher

Nexon hires former THQ exec Moravek as SVP

Ron Moravek will be donning a new hat for Nexon America, joining the company as senior vice president of live game operations.

News of the hire was first spotted by VentureBeat on Moravek’s Linkedin profile, and then confirmed by Games Industry International.

Moravek spent fifteen years and served as vice president at the dearly departed THQ, and is credited with helping the company adopt new business models like "games as service" and improve the quality of the published product overall.

His past positions include senior advisor to NuCaptcha, CEO of Sitemasher, as well as both VP and CEO of Electronic Arts’ Vancouver studio.

Nexon did not provide further details about the hire, but it is reported that Moravek will report to Nexon North America head Min Kim.

He is expected to work with the company as it attempts to expand in the mobile and social markets.
