Nintendo Switch increases NVIDIA's Q1 revenue

The demand for Tegra processors increased revenue by 108 per cent

NVIDIA have announced in their Q1 financial report that the demand and revenue for their Tegra processor has increased due to the Nintendo Switch.

The financials for the financial year 2018 also show that NVIDIA's gaming division has increased substantially thanks to GPUs and the implentation of their new Pascal architecture.

According to the published results, the Tegra's revenue, which includes gaming development platforms and services, was $332 million. This marks an increase of 108 percent from 2017.

The Tegra processer that powers the Nintendo Switch also powers NVIDIA's own Shield tablets and has also been used in automobiles. The results show that automotive business was to account for $140 million of the figure stated above.
