Organisers of two European games industry conferences have announced a landmark partnership to expand their scope and influence.
Both the Nordic Game conference and the Festival of Games – two events traditionally within weeks of each other – will share speakers, event resources and offer discounts for people attending both.
Nordic Game takes place in Sweden, while the Festival of Games runs in the Netherlands.
Both event companies have, in light of their partnership, founded what they call the European Games Conference Alliance.
“This is a great start for cooperation between strong EU conference organisers,” said Seth van der Meer, Festival of Games chairman.
Jacob Riis, of Nordic Game Program, said both parties will “work together on arranging speakers and offer each other’s participants discounts on attending both events.”
“This way, the international games industry can benefit from our cooperation and save time as well as money,” he said.
There is hope by both groups that the European Game Conference Alliance can expand with other European events involved.
It is hoped that, if enough event partners get involved, an annual subscription to all events can be introduced.
