Philip and Andrew Oliver – CEO and CTO of Blitz Games Studios respectively – have been elected as fellows of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.

The RSA is a politically independent institution over 250 years old and set up to “recognise good ideas and increase human capability through public discourse and critical debate.” There are over 27,000 international members of the society fellowship.

“I’m honoured to have been elected as a Fellow of the RSA,” said Philip Oliver.

“The Society has a long and prestigious history and I look forward to reaching out to the Fellowship Community on a range of issues, including the importance of business engagement with academia.”

Andrew Oliver agreed that the election was flattering.

“I’m hugely flattered that the games industry is being recognised by the membership of such a significant organisation as providing a contribution to the cultural and business landscape of Britain,” he said.

“I hope to work with other Fellows to continue to push the awareness of the creative and technological boundaries of this exciting business.”
