PAX finally comes to Europe with PLAY: Paris event

The Penny Arcade Expo has been a popular addition to the US gaming events calendar for over a decade. Both PAX Prime (Seattle) and PAX East (Boston) offer a safe, inclusive space for gamers and developers to explore and play inside the world of games. After years of rumours of a European addition, and the launch of Australian and Texan versions of the show, PAX Europe is finally happening. Though it seems the event will eschew the true PAX name, opting for the more region-friendly PLAY: Paris. But don’t worry, it’s still ‘powered by PAX’.

The two-day event will take place on April 21st and 22nd, aiming to “give a voice to the French gaming community”, according to the press release. For developers, this offers a great opportunity to show off your games and receive feedback from gamers. There’s no English language website yet, but there are promises that one will be ‘coming soon’.

“We’re super excited to be launching a new gaming event in France as part of the Powered by PAX brand!” said Global PAX content director Guy ‘Yug’ Blomberg. “PAX represents a gaming festival that puts the community first, while honoring the players, developers, and publishers of games. It’s going to be awesome to see what the passionate local gamers bring to the event!”

Want to get involved? You can get in touch with the organisers directly. An exhibitor list will be forthcoming before the event starts, so keep an eye on the official website for up to date information. With a little help from Google Translate.
