Perforce has launched a new program to bring its version control and asset management tool suite to schools for free.
The new program will allow students attending college or university to obtain a free educational license, a free-to-use introductory e-learning module as well as potential internships at the company.
“We have provided our products to educational institutions for many years and are pleased to be used by some of the world’s most exciting research and development projects at schools like MIT and Stanford,” said Perforce COO Nigel Chanter.
"By adding free online training, we are now enabling more colleges and universities to better prepare their students for careers in modern digital content creation.”
Perforce is a version control and asset management tool designed to help developers and artists collaborate more efficiently through managing data with change history tracking.
It manages digital files to ensure all assets are reproducible and traceable, whilst allowing teams to work simultaneously. It is also integrated with graphical tools such as Photoshop, Softimage, 3ds Max and Maya.
