Sales of the PS4 have surpassed six million worldwide, Sony has revealed.
The console was launched in Japan last week, and was said to have sold 322,000 units within two days.
In the US meanwhile, more than 90 per cent of PS4s have been connected to the internet.
Users have been taking advantage of the social and sharing options built into the console, streaming more than 3.6 million live broadcasts, attracting over 56 million spectate sessions through Twitch and Ustream.
Since January 1st, PS4 users have accounted for 20 per cent of the daily broadcasters on Twitch.
As well as streaming, players have also shared more than 100 million pictures and videos through sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Sony has also touted the interactive features available for those broadcasting their games, with Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition using a Broadcast+ mode to enable spectators to influence gameplay in both positive and negative ways.
Other titles such as Daylight and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition are also set to take advantage of the interactive social elements.
