Games developers in Quebec have formed a new organisation designed to support any studios in the region and promote the local dev community.
La Guilde des développeurs de jeux vidéo indépendants du Québec – or La Guilde, for short – has already had its first meet-up and is led by Borealys Games CEO Louis-Félix Cauchon, GamaSutra reports.
Cauchon is supported by his co-founders Pascal Nataf and Jean-François Malouin, as well as former Ubisoft dev Patrice Desilets, who opened his own studio back in 2014.
The group has been formed to help “promote the success of this industry sector [and] to ensure growth and sustainability”, according to the group’s website. 75 indie studios have already signed up.
La Guilde aims to open a shared workspace in future, as well as other services for its members that will help them grow their business.
