APB and Crackdown developer wants to have over 300 staff by end of year

Realtime Worlds expands Dundee base

Realtime Worlds, the developer of Crackdown and upcoming online PC title APB, has expanded into new offices.

The 8,000 sq ft premises have been added to RTW’s existing 26,000 sq ft location to allow the company to grow towards 300 staff by the end of the year.

The studio currently employs 265 developers, having ramped up significantly in recent months – something it plans to keep doing well towards the launch of APB in early 2010. There are currently 40 vacancies at the studio.

Speaking at the grand opening for the new office, studio manager Colin Macdonald said: “When we opened our current facility less than three years ago we hadn’t yet shipped our first game.

“Since then we’ve had tremendous commercial and critical success, and have done the lion’s share of the work towards a successful launch of our online title APB. This additional space allows us to continue to grow at the pace needed to attain the quality of a game like APB, and build the infrastructure required to support its online launch.”
