Over 18,000 game developers and industry execs attended last week’s Game Developers Conference according to organiser CMP – the highest attendance figures ever for the event.
Now the world’s largest industry-only event, the event composed of over 400 sessions and ran for five days. Last year CMP said over 16,000 had attended the 2007 event.
"Every year, the GDC’s goal is to deliver tailored learning and networking opportunities for the diverse groups of people who make games," said Jamil Moledina, executive director of the Game Developers Conference.
"This year’s conference not only exceeded our historical attendance record, but also surpassed expectations in terms of content quality and deal-making productivity."
CMP also confirmed that the event will return for 2009, as we’d reported last week, on March 23rd to 27th.
