UK Independent Relentless has opened its iPhone account with a new quiz title, but the studio is already researching even younger games platforms.
In an interview with Develop, studio co-founder Andrew Eades said the plan was to continue diversifying.
“We’re looking at other platforms too,” he said.
“We’re very interested in emerging TV platforms and we’re looking into them at the moment”.
Earlier in the year, at CES, Tv manufacturers launched a series of connected TVs which had games supplied to them.
The firm announced earlier in the year it was breaking away from developing retail games, having reached the end of an exclusivity deal with Sony.
Its first release under this new vision is an iPhone and iPad puzzle game, entitled Quiz Climber.
Eades said Relentless’ catalogue of titles – including the hugely popular Buzz games – were better suited to these audiences.
“The point is that we make games that are accessible to more than the hardcore and they like to play on devices that they own without needing to buy an expensive console,” he said.
“We still address console as our games don’t exclude more hardcore gamers and as their pricing becomes more mass market, consoles will naturally become more mass market.”
