Buzz and Blue Toad Murder files developer Relentless Studios has rejoined Tiga - after famously pulling out of the organisation in 2006 and branding it irrelevant.
Back then, in November 2006, development director of the studio Andrew Eades wrote an exclusive piece for Develop criticising the association.
"Tiga spends a lot of time talking about how to perpetuate its existence rather than getting down to the nitty-gritty of promoting the games industry's interests," he said at the time.
Clearly, the intervening three years have changed his mind.
Eades said today: “Relentless has always been a strong supporter of the UK games industry and recognises the recent steps forward that Tiga has made in establishing a dialogue with Government.
“For me the most important thing Tiga can do is continue to engage with Government and media to ensure we communicate an honest and positive message about our great industry and the creative leadership we show in the UK. We make fantastic games with very talented people here in the UK as well as creating revenue and wealth for the nation.
“Games are a positive force and I hope that we can work closely with the Government to create a better environment for game developers in the UK and for UK business generally.”
Richard Wilson, Tiga CEO who joined the organisation in early 2008m added: “Relentless Software is a highly successful and renowned development studio here in the UK. The games they create including Buzz!: Quiz World and Buzz!: The Schools Quiz, are fantastic examples of the educational and social value of games.
"We are thrilled that Relentless has decided to rejoin TIGA and look forward to working closely with the team to promote the industry to Parliament and the media.”
