Max Payne, Alan Wake and Quantum Break creator Remedy Entertainment is to work with South Korean studio Smilegate.
The developers have inked a deal that will see the Finnish outlet lend its hand to the campaign mode for Smilegate’s upcoming free-to-play shooter sequel CrossFire 2.
Launched in 2014, the first CrossFire, which has been massively successful across Asia, sees military organisation Global Risk facing off against terrorist cell Black List.
16 human players take control of combatants on both sides of the conflict in a variety of competitive objective-based matches.
“The whole team here at Remedy is incredibly excited to be a key partner in developing the future of the CrossFire franchise,” the studio said in its announcement of the partnership.
“Smilegate specifically chose Remedy to bring our unique blend of storytelling, memorable characters and inventive gameplay to CrossFire’s global audience.”
