The return of classic adventure series Broken Sword is one of the best examples of how crowdfunding can accomplish what traditional publishing can not, but even in the years that have followed, there are mysteries surrounding how to successfully get fans to fund your games.
Some of those mysteries will be dispelled by Revolution Software's owner and COO Noirin Carmody, the latest speaker to join the line-up of speakers at next month's Develop Live.
In a talk entitled 'Broken Sword 5's Financial Model', Carmody will discuss how the studio turned to series enthusiasts and gamers to revive the classic IP through crowdfunding.
She joins an eclectic range of speakers that includes British crime author Christopher Brookmyre, Amazon's developer evangelist Jesse Freeman, cyberpsychologist Berni Good, Glasgow Caledonian University's Dr Romana Ramzan and indie developer Nicoll Hunt – plus experts from Dimensional Imaging, DeltaDNA, Speech Graphics, Preloaded, Scottish Games Newtork and more.
