Rise of the Tomb Raider tops DICE Awards shortlist

The nominees for next months’ DICE Awards have been revealed.

Rise of the Tomb Raider leads the pack with nine nominations, including those for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Adventure Game of the Year and the sought-after Game of the Year prize.

The titular explorer also made an appearance in the Mobile Game of the Year category, with Lara Croft GO joining Fallout Shelter, Pac-Man 256, The Room Three and DomiNations.

Hot on Tomb Raider’s tail is The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, which collected eight nods, including Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction.

Meanwhile, Ori picked up six nominations and Fallout 4 followed up with five. Her Story, The Order: 1886 and Star Wars Battlefront hold four apiece.

The 19th DICE Awards will be hosted by comedian Pete Holmes and held on February 18th in Las Vegas alongside the conclusion of the 2016 DICE Summit.

Former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who sadly passed away last year, will be honoured during the ceremony as the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima will also be recognised, entering the DICE Awards Hall of Fame.
