GDC 2014: New publishing division will be run by its newly acquired studio Chunky Pig

Roadhouse Interactive opens publishing division

Vancouver-based developer Roadhouse Interactive has launched a publishing division to help developers worldwide plan and implement every facet of live game operations.

The new division is to be led by the team from its newly acquired firm, Chunky Pig, a digital marketing company based in the same city as its new owner.

“Chunky Pig has brought its marketing expertise to multiple console, mobile and free-to-play games. Bringing together our combined experience in developing and publishing was the natural next step in growing our business. With this newly launched business unit, Roadhouse Interactive can now offer a complete suite from publishing services to game development,” said Roadhouse Interactive CEO James Hursthouse.

Roadhouse Interactive head of publishing Nick Malaperiman added: “Roadhouse Interactive is building a track record of great game franchises, including FRS Ski Cross and upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Carnage. The company has made a significant investment in building backend platform technology and expertise to meet the demands of publishing its own titles. With the launch of our publishing services division, we are sharing this expertise and resources to other game companies.”

Roadhouse said its publishing services will offer developers proven live game management services while enabling them to retain control or ownership of their IP.

Some clients that have already signed up to its service include D3 Publisher in the US, Boomlagoon in Finland and Bloobuzz in Canada.

A suite of marketing tools are also provided as part of the service, including KPI management, monetisation, A/B testing, as well as social media and community management.

Roadhouse also promises business intelligence analysis, access to selected ad networks to further reduce overhead costs for development studios.
