A total of eight US studios picked up 22 of the 27 awards on offer during last night's Annual Interactive Achievement Awards.

Japan picked up another for Capcom’s Street Fighter IV, and Canadian outfit BioWare took a prize for Dragon Age: Origins.

But it was Rocksteady Studios that brought back to the UK three awards for its breakthrough title Batman Arkham Asylum.

“We are blown away by the awards we just won especially as they are voted on by our peers,” studio director Jamie Walker tells Develop.

“We are very proud to represent the British games industry and congratulate all the other award winners this year, particularly Naughty Dog and 5th Cell Media who both produced spectacular games,” he added.

The studio currently has open vacancies for several roles, as the team now looks to build on its success with the sequel to Arkham Asylum.

Today, however, the studio revelling in its massive win. It’s been only five years since Rocksteady was founded, but already the London squad are making an impact on the industry.

“The awards are a great achievement and a testament to the hard work and passion the team put in to Batman: Arkham Asylum,” added Walker, “made possible only by the patience, understanding and support of our families during the project.”
