US-based services firm Sperasoft has expanded its offering to include full game development, meaning it can now take on larger projects for its partners.
The outsourcing firm previously offered a range of services that help add to ongoing game development, contributing to franchises such as FIFA and Mass Effect. But now the firm is keen to tackle the challenge of developing an entire game from scratch.
This new venture follows the hires of Mark Rizzo as Chief Technology Officer and Alan Van Syke as senior director of service delivery. Rizzo previously worked at MMO firm Trion Worlds, with previous stints at Sony and EA, while Van Syke left his position in EA's worldwide technology division. Prior to this, he was a producer at Epic Games, working on titles such as Gears of War: Judgment.
"Sperasoft is in a privileged position to be able to work with some of the world's most successful games publishers, and this is testament to our 200+ strong team of passionate, creative and committed games developers," said president and CEO Igor Efremov.
"Announcing our expansion to offer full games development also gives our employees the credit they deserve and serves to invite new publishers to see what Sperasoft can offer. The addition of Alan and Mark to the team only amplifies the experience and professionalism Sperasoft endeavours to offer all of our clients, and keeps us ahead of the game."
Sperasoft is a finalist in the Services category of the Develop Awards 2014, which take place in Brighton on Wednesday, July 9th.
