Publisher Spil Games has kicked off a brand new competition that will see the winner securing a publishing deal equivalent to $50,000.

Entitled Unsung Heroes, the contest follows from an initiative the firm started at Casual Connect earlier this year, in which it spoke to developers about the challenges of finding and retaining a large audience on mobile platforms.

Developers are being called on to nominate games that they think deserve a larger audience and convince Spil Games why these titles deserve a chance. The best game will will the publishing deal, as well as marketing and support.

Spil will promote the winning title to its audience of 130m unique monthly users, as well as help the developer to write and optimise their app store descriptions, improve monetisation and more.

The publisher also promises that everyone entering the competition stands to get more attention for their games.

“We had a huge response to Unsung Heroes when we launched it at Casual Connect in February,” said CEO Tung Nguyen-Khac. “Developers really got what we were trying to do. With this competition, we’re taking things to the next level and demonstrating our commitment to finding an audience for their awesome mobile games.”

You can find out more about the competition and how to enter at the competition’s website. The deadline for entry is June 23rd, 2015.
