As many as fifteen staff have been let go at 2K Marin’s Australian arm, according to reports.
The New South Wales studio – formerly known as 2K Canberra – helped with production of titles such as BioShock 2, and is thought to be involved in a new Xcom project.
An alleged anonymous source told Kotaku that 2K Marin is to cut some fifteen workers, but the report said “this appears to be the extent of the damage”.
The publishing division 2K, and its owning company Take-Two, have yet to comment on the alleged cutbacks.
If true it would be another bitter blow to Australia’s games business, which has left hundreds of staff unemployed following a bitter run of studio closures.
THQ, Team Bondi and KMM have each closed their studios across the country.
2K Marin’s Australia studio is twinned with 2K Marin in California.
