Super Evil Megacorp teams up with Twitch to promote Vainglory as an eSport

Three-year multi-million deal will see live streaming platform handle merchandise and sponsorship for developer

Super Evil Megacorp believes that its mobile MOBA Vainglory can cut it in the eSports leagues – and has partnered with Twitch to prove it.

The developer and live streaming provider have inked a three-year deal worth several million dollars to jointly invest in growing Vainglory’s presence in the eSports sector.

The game already sees more than a million livestream viewers each month, and was named as the fastest-growing mobile game on Twitch in 2015.

As well as promoting the title through its streaming services, Twitch will handle merchandise and sponsorship deals on behalf of the studio by forming an internal division dedicated to working on the game.

“The eSports industry has been dominated by PC and console titles, but Vainglory is ushering in a new mobile games movement,” said Twitch’s eSports chief Nick Allen.

“We’ve been working closely with Twitch since even before the global launch of Vainglory, and their massive, wildly passionate gaming community has helped our game develop a loyal and growing following,” added Super Evil Megacorp COO and exec director Kristian Segerstrale.

“By working with Twitch in this new and expanded capacity, we’re going to be able to bring our esports programming to the next level and provide better and more frequent coverage to fans.”
