YouTube popularity translates to sales for London studio's hit game

Surgeon Simulator sales top two million

Sales of Bossa Studios’ Surgeon Simulator have surpassed two million.

The game, available on PC, mobile and console, tasks players with performing life-saving operations on patients using a tricky QWOP-style interface. The whacky nature of the game made it an internet hit, becoming the star of numerous YouTube videos receiving millions of views.

“Thanks to everyone who has played Surgeon Simulator and made it such a global success,” said Bossa co-founder Henrique Olifiers.

“It has been really amazing to see this title go from a game jam project to a full release across multiple formats and is testament to the originality and creativity we nurture here at Bossa Studios.”

In 2013 Develop caught up with the London-based Bossa team to discuss the making of Surgeon Simulator. You can read our in-depth feature here.
