Peter Rezon insists Nintendoâ??s home console space no longer suffers from over-saturation

The Wii market is safe again, says Reef CEO

A publishing group now porting older PS2 titles to the Wii insists that a ‘core’ market has opened again for Nintendo’s home console.

Reef Entertainment consults developers with a view to porting last-gen games to the Wii, having done so already with titles such as Sniper Elite and Freerunning.

And in an interview with Develop, the groups’ CEO Peter Rezon insisted that fears of an over-saturated Wii market no longer reflected the truth of the matter.

“Its very easy to say that the market is oversaturated on the Wii, but many people have moved away from it, leaving things much more open again,” he said.

“What may not make sense for a bigger company may be great for a smaller set-up. It’s quite remarkable how quickly sales can be made, if you put the work in,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview – which you can read here – Rezon spoke of the influence DLC will continue to have on the game industry, as well as the expansion Reef’s business.
