The documents supporting THQ’s filing for bankruptcy have shed light on the firm’s upcoming slate of games.
Most intriguingly, we have the first details of the game Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets is working on for the company, plus sales expectations for both announced and unannounced games.
He left his role as lead for the historical action series at Ubisoft Montreal last year to head up new studio THQ Montreal, which was touted as working on a new property.
The first game there is called ‘1666’… which we presume will be another historical action title of some sort, given the name. Perhaps it tells the story of a shadowy conspiracy responsible for the great fire of London – or maybe it’s about a man drunk on Kronenberg for two years.
Elsewhere, Darksiders developer Vigil is working on a title codenamed ‘Crawler’ according to the filing. It is not known if this is a third game in the Darksiders series or a new IP.
Fellow THQ-owned studio Relic is working on a game codenamed Atlas. The studio is currently finishing of Company of Heroes 2, due on PC in 2013.
Meanwhile, Turtle Rock Studios – which originally devised Valve’s zombie shooter Left 4 Dead – is working on a title called Evolve (which THQ filed a trademark for in February).
