CEO Don Mattrick reshuffles his new house to improve its decisiveness

Three more execs depart Zynga

The new CEO of Zynga, Don Mattrick, has already begun shaking up the social games company by revealing that three long-serving senior executives are to depart the firm.

Chief technology officer Cadir Lee, chief people officer Colleen McCreary and chief operating officer David Ko “will be leaving the company to pursue other interests”, according to a blog post by Mattrick this week.

Mattrick offered praise for the three outgoing execs: “Each person has contributed to the growth of Zynga and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cadir Lee for his dedication in the creation of a world class technical organisation during his five-year tenure, Colleen for her work with our recruitment and people process over the last four years and David Ko for the three years that he spent in leading various teams across the organisation. We appreciate their contributions to Zynga’s first chapter and wish them well in their future endeavours.”

The reshuffle has also put responsibility for individual games under certain execs. The new organisation is hoped to make it more effective at spotting which segments of the business are under-performing, so relevant steps can be taken to change that.

Zynga has lost a string of executive in the last 12 months, along with the replacement of its CEO Mark Pincus. The firm has also stepped back from the real money gaming market.
