Casual Games Committee to help with marketing, networking and tools costs

Tiga expands remit amid social games uprising

UK trade association Tiga has established a new ‘casual’ division with the aim to support Britain’s growing army social and mobile games studios.

The group has opened a ‘Casual Games Committee’, designed to “support companies creating games of all formats with production budgets between £10,000 and £300,000”.

Tiga said the new division can help studios network with others, develop strategic partnerships, identify trends in the market and – if possible – offer discounts on software and tools.

Tiga said the move comes “in response to exponential growth in casual gaming platforms”.

All Tiga members working on a casual game can apply, providing their budget is between £10,000 and $300,000.
