In the wake of Time Warner’s acquisition of developer TT Games, the huge media conglomerate’s CFO has revealed his employer is planning to make more in roads into the games industry.
"The games area is an area that intrigues us," revealed John Martin at an investor conference in Arizona, adding: "That said, I don't see anything right now of any scale that we're going to go out and acquire. I think it's going to be done incrementally."
Warner already has its own games publishing arm, Warner Bros. Interactive, which is behind the successful Lego Batman and Guinness World Records titles, but the move into purchasing developers marks an increased prominence in the industry by the company.
Time Warner is considered to be in a position to make continued acquisitions, as it is expected to receive a cash windfall as a result of the full spin-off of Time Warner Cable CNN reports.
