The games market is awash with bizarre brand partnerships, but at least this one makes sense, right?
Nordeus, the Serbian developer behind mobile football title Top Eleven, has renewed its sponsorship of UK team Biggleswade United FC. The deal will see the Top Eleven logo appearing on players’ shirts throughout the 2016-17 season.
It’s the second year the dev has partnered with the football club, with Top Eleven’s audience of over 140m gamers helping to boost awareness of the boys from Biggleswade. Reportedly it’s the support of the Top Eleven fanbase that made Biggleswade FC one of the Top 50 most followed clubs on Twitter.
“To us football has always been about more than money,” said Nordeus CEO Branko Milutinovic. “From the highest level down, giving back to the community is the best way to build a successful, sustainable club — from the grassroots up.
“Every Top Eleven manager starts their career in this way, improving both on and off the pitch to succeed. In Biggleswade United, we have found the perfect partner — a club who shares our passion for football, for community and for innovation. We can’t wait to see the new heights the team will reach over the next year.”
