Trip Hawkins’ new London studio teases first game

EA founder Trip Hawkins’ new London studio If You Can is working on a top-down RPG for kids, it has revealed.

Teasing the first details on the new educational-focused game developer, co-founder and former Moshi Monsters lead producer Ben Geliher said the title would be a mash-up of Pokemon, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda.

“The game will be a top down RPG for kids, so very stylised in its look and feel,” said Geliher, as reported by The App Side.

“Think Pokemon, Animal Crossing or The Legend of Zelda for an idea of what would be expected.”

New Studio If You Can was revealed earlier this week, and was set up along with former Moshi Monsters lead producer Ben Geliher.

Hawkins said he made the decision to set up the studio in London due to the quality of talent in the UK, and was currently in the process of raising capital from VCs.

The developer aims to release its first title by the end of 2013.
