Publisher offers free DLC and game to owners

Ubisoft apologises for Assassin’s Creed Unity bugs

Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat has apologised for the the number of bugs in Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Notable bugs reported to date include missing faces, invisible walls to hang off from and character models being twisted into irregular shapes, amongst other issues.

The state of the release resulted in Ubisoft posting a blog of all the bugs, as well as detailing the developer’s progress on fixing them.

Mallat has now apologised on behalf of the publisher and development team, and has made its upcoming Dead Kings DLC free for players. Season pass holders will also receive an additional game for free. Following the move however, the season pass is no longer for sale.

“Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues,” said Mallat.

“I want to sincerely apologise on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin’s Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential.

“We’ve been working hard to fix the problems players are reporting, and the patches we have released so far have resolved many of them.”
