Unity has extended its Unity License Grant Program to include all types of education, now including colleges and universities.

Unity already made Unity licenses available for in-class use to both primary and secondary schools, but now any academic institution or education programme that meet the qualifying criteria.

These licenses are used to support learning, teaching, training, research and development in education, and since the launch of the Unity License Grant Program launched in March 2015, somewhere in the region of 77,000 licenses have been granted for in-class use. Unity are looking to offer further support to students looking to get into the games industry, or to those looking to teach those students.

You can find out more about Unity's scheme here. In addition to details about the program, Unity offer details on how to teach Unity to students, or to build a curriculum around learning to use the engine.
