StarCraft, Destiny and Battlefield round out nominations for top award at Game Audio Network Guild Awards

Until Dawn, Rapture and Ori tipped for GANG ‘Audio of the Year’ prize

Indie efforts and triple-A blockbusters alike have split the shortlist for this year’s top prize at the Game Audio Network Guild Awards Awards.

The Audio of the Year category at the 2016 GANG Awards features smaller-budget names such as Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Until Dawn and Ori and the Blind Forest next to heavy-hitters StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, Destiny: The Taken King and Battlefield: Hardline.

Rapture, Ori and Star Wars Battlefront are the most prevalent names among the Awards’ various categories, stacking up nominations for Music of the Year, Best Mix and Best Original Soundtrack Album.

Other titles to be tipped for recognition are Just Cause 3 (Sound Design of the Year), Tearaway Unfodled (Music of the Year), Rise of the Tomb Raider (Best Mix) and Fallout 4 (Best interactive Score).

The 14th GANG Awards will take place on March 17th during GDC 2016, with winner decided by members of the organisation’s advisory and directors boards, which include audio directors, producers and designers from across the world of games.
