iPhone indie giant ZeptoLab has opened a new UK satellite group to accompany its Moscow-based headquarters.
Company documents seen by Develop show the new UK division is based in London’s inner city and run by new director Zuy Spartak.
And the group appears to have ended its partnership with EA’s mobile publishing label Chillingo.
[Update: Daniel Tausney, a UK spokesperson for Chillingo, has explained the group still has a lasting partnership with ZeptoLab in place.
"Chillingo is proud to have made the original iOS version of Cut the Rope become such a worldwide, phenomenal success," he said.
"Both Chillingo and ZeptoLab will continue to bring new content and updates to the original version of the game in the future. Our partnership is still going strong."]
Chillingo published ZeptoLab’s breakthrough iPhone game Cut the Rope, which received widespread acclaim and shot to the top of the App Store charts.
The game’s newest expansion, called Cut the Rope: Experiments, has been published by ‘ZeptoLab UK’, and has again topped the iPhone charts.
Cut the Rope has been downloaded more than 45 million times, including 9 million paid downloads, ZeptoLabs has said.
The group, which previously received an instrumental investment from Kite Ventures, is now seeking significant further investment.
