Epic Games has released a new video exploring the visual enhancements that are capable with Unreal Engine 4.
At GDC in March, the engine maker showed its Infiltrator demo, which demonstrated fluid character movements, high dynamic range lighting effects and photoreal landscapes. It was an arresting glimpse at what the next generation of games will look like with Unreal Technology.
In its latest Inside Unreal video, Epic’s senior FX artist Tim Elek explains how he created muzzle flashes, smoke and impact effects for the Infiltrator demo.

Epic said developers can use its tools inside the integrated Unreal Cascade FX editor to rapidly place thousands of elements into an effect, and then evaluate their behaviour and movement.
