A four-year, £4.5m programme is to launch across Wales to help bolster the nation’s creative media industries.
The initiative, called Skills in the Digital Economy, will target a wealth of digital media industries including TV, film, radio, animation and video games.
The money will be used for skills training for aspiring film makers, game designer, animators and more. Individuals already in these sectors can use the fund to further develop skills and remain competitive on the world stage.
Wales National Assembly minister for innovation and skills, Lesley Griffiths, praised the programme.
She said: "A workforce with the relevant high level skills is essential to drive forward the performance and productivity of this diverse sector and ensure that Wales can derive the maximum economic and cultural benefits."
Director of Skillset Cymru, Gwawr Hughes, said the scheme would be "extremely important" for the development and success of the sector.
The announcement comes amid renewed calls for game development tax breaks in the UK.
