Rhianna Pratchett has confirmed she will not be writing the story for EA’s remaining of Mirror’s Edge.
The writer was responsible for the plot of the 2008 original, which was developed by Battlefield studio DICE. EA announced at E3 last year that the team is currently working on a new Mirror’s Edge for next-gen consoles.
However, Pratchett has revealed on Twitter that she had not been approached about the project, and wished the team a DICE good luck in penning the remake.
In a series of tweets, she said:
It's really lovely that people care enough to ask whether I'm involved with Mirror's Edge 2, but I'm not & wasn't asked. (Cont'd)

Let's face it ME1's story didn't review that great (for many reasons). So I consider myself a casualty of that development process. (cont'd)

By all accounts it's a new team on it, so go with God, I say. Create cool stuff. We always need more of that.

Rhianna Pratchett was one of Develop’s 25 people that changed games in 2013, thanks primarily to her work reinventing Lara Croft in the reboot of Tomb Raider.
