World of Warcraft has dropped from 10.2 to 9.1 million subscriptions over the past quarter.
The numbers were revealed as part of Activision-Blizzard’s quarterly report to investors, and resumes a decline which seemed to have halted during the winter.
With the expansion Mists of Pandaria under two months from release, the publisher has a decent chance to reverse the trend.
The loss of a tenth of all subscriptions is nonetheless a sour note in an otherwise positive quarter, and investors reacted with uncertainty as stocks made a slight dip which continued in after hours trading.
