A trio of veteran games developers have teamed up to form a new studio working on a new VR experience.

Impeller Studios has been founded by David Wessman, Jack Mamais and Coray Seifert, with another 12 members of staff alongside them. Together the Impeller team has credits on 96 published games, according to GamesIndustry.

Looking at specific experience, Wessman was lead designer on Saints Row and worked on the acclaimed X-Wing series of games. Mamais, meanwhile, has contributed to the Crysis and Far Cry franchises. Finally, Seifert served as both writer and designer on Homefront and Frontlines: Fuel of War.

Little is known about the studio’s first title, other than that it will involve by virtual reality and traditional gameplay. More interesting is the fact that it will be built on Autodesk’s new Stingray game engine, which was first previewed at GDC last month.

A full reveal is expected on May 5th.
