A successor to the Facebook games sensation Farmville appears to be at the final stages of development.
Publisher Zynga appears to be trialling the game’s sequel in the Philippines, though the title is given the assumed working title “Big Harvest”.
The game appears to have undergone a graphical overhaul, with improved definition, animations and detail.
No official release date has been set for the game.
“We don’t comment on what we may or may not be working on,” Zynga told TechCrunch in a statement.
“We’re always looking for ways to bring players the best experience by listening to their feedback and continuously innovating on our games,” the company added.
The original Farmville became a western totem of the dramatic success that can be achieved with free-to-play social games.
In 2010 the game amassed more than 80 million users. In Zynga’s latest financial disclosure, it was claimed that the game still accounts for a third of the company’s revenue.
